India vs Sri Lanka: Captain Dhawan beat Sri Lanka in the First ODI

Colombo, July 18: India won the first match of the ODI series against Sri Lanka. With the hitting skill of Shikhar Dhawan, Ishaan Kishan, and Prithvi Shah, India still had 13.2 overs left after winning the Game.

Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to hit first. Sri Lanka was able to score 262 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in its allotted 50 overs. The Indian bowling force put together a good attack and surprised the Sri Lankan team. Deepak Chahar, Yuvuvendra Chahal, and Kuldeep Yadav took two plots each for India.

Young India starter Prithvi Shaw got off to an explosive start to India's 263-run chase. The team got 58 runs for the first wicket. Prithvi Shaw's contribution was 43 runs. Prithvi Shah scored 43 of 24 balls with 9 fours with a strike rate of 179.17 which gave India a fast start. Shaw was caught by Avishka Fernando after struggling from the ball bowled by Dhananjaya De Silva.

Then Ishaan Kishan started his First ball with a huge Six. On the other hand, Captain Dhawan was playing a modest game while Ishaan Kishan moved to big hits. Ishaan hit 59 of 42 deliveries and conceded a wicket. Ishaan Kishan, who made his debut in the ODI, shone with half a century.

Manish Pandey joined Shikhar Dhawan after Ishaan Kishan lost the wicket. The couple also did not give Sri Lanka a slight edge in a half-century partnership. Manish Pandey scored 26 runs.

Then Suryakumar Yadav joined the leader. The pair managed to claim victory through the fourth uninterrupted gate. India still managed to win the Sri Lankan team's 263-run goal with 80 balls remaining. Sari said, “how strong the India team is, even without major players”.
