The rain made an appearance in the second leg and there were no major changes to the schedule, except for Miguel Oliveira (KTM), who managed to finish third, and Fabio Quartararo, who overtook Àlex Rins, relegating to fifth place. Marc Marquez, who had the sixth-best combination, had a spectacular fall, but luckily he was able to get up on his own.

Maverick Viñales makes the best time

The storm on the Yamaha team could have positive consequences. This is what emerges from the first free practice session of the Dutch Grand Prix, where Maverick Viñales set the fastest time.

The Rosinc rider almost completely dominated the session and no one managed to overcome his 1: 33.072. In addition, Viñales used the same combination of tires throughout the session. The one who came closest to it is Pol Espargaró (Honda), another Catalan rider in need of justification. The third-fastest time finally went to Barcelona's Àlex Rins (Suzuki). Marc Marquez, who at the last German GP returned to the top step of the podium after more than a year, clocked ninth time, almost a second behind Maverick.
